Thanks for your comments, It's starting to be apparent that there are allot more exer's here that were born into it rather than coming into latter on in life.
That probably has to say something I guess.

Why are the WT selling prime estate in Brooklyn - do they know something
by needproof inso i hear that the wt are selling lots of property; worth millions.
1) they sincerely think the end is soon .
2) they just want the money .

It might be the case that they are aware that the properties they hold are now worth mega millions, and so are possibly cashing out with the gain to build bigger and better facilities
out in one place in Patterson. Or another thought might be they are starting to get shy with all the information about them like whats on the inter-net for example, and their wanting to
relocate themselves out in the country where less eyes are upon them, like a bad little boy about to be caught..............hmmm time will only tell

Yep.. know where you folks are coming from, perhaps it's are responsibility to tell are story so that others can be made aware of problems that may arise when people are
thinking of joining this religion, at least thats my viewpoint.
I'm really interested though in why outside people not like us have been drawn to it, I'm looking forward to hearing what they have to say, should be very interesting

inactive a year
by changeling inthis month marks a year since i reported fs.
i can't remember the last time i felt this proud of an accomplishment.
i have come a long way in my de-programing.

For myself I was born into it so there wasn't really any choice for myself, but now that I've been out of it for some 30 yrs. or so I can certainly see the damaging effects it has on
individuals and there are many to speak of, noted ones are intellectual growth due to an apathy to education, a social disconnection with ones community including family members,
mental instability like depression and anxiety brought on by the appending Armageddon theory. So there are really many not so good things for the general public and with special emphasis
on children. In short when the perceived power is ignorant it's best for one to walk away from that power or you just might hurt yourself and maybe others.

How much control does the WTS really have?
by dozy ina theme regularly running through ex-jw / apostate posts is their conviction that the worship of jws is at best of a high control basis or at worst exhibits cult-like tendencies , so they often delight in the freedom that they now enjoy.. but in reality , how much control is exhibited on the average witness?
to take one example , at least 40k are dfd in an average year , and one would assume 3 - 5x this figure are reproved privately or publicly.
that means that over a 10 year period 20% - 25% of jws are seriously flouting the strongest moral code of jws , usually for immorality , emphasized in wt after wt , meeting after meeting.

The organization was conceived on the basis of empowering men and to make a monetary profit, this is what it was structured on
and old and proven way to gain control is to cultivate fear, fear draws attention and fear keeps the attention and the power that you have obtained.
I think the public awareness has grow on how these kind of religions operate themselves, certainly something that was not very present one hundred yrs. ago when this religion was
started.
Possibly one of the main reasons why so many eventually turn away form this religion is it over bearing control that it institutes on it followers, you essentially become a slave to only them,
one master and always placed at the foot of the master to be his discrete servant, this social ideology stems from bible times.......so why not become the master it certainly worth the try !

Well done, once you pull back the curtain on the WTS. and make a close observation of the organization, things become very clear
the chances of god's organization on earth starting from a bunch of corrupt power seeking businessmen in New York city......I don't think so.

Is there a big "push" going on right now?
by robhic ina couple of jws just left my door.
they started out by trying to give me an invitation to an upcoming convention.. i politely declined and said it was difficult and that i didn't get out much, anyway.
we didn't spend much time talking but i almost felt sorry for the poor man (it was a husband & wife) because he really, really wanted to give away some literature!

There always is a big push with regarding j-dubs and service work and that is their marketing strategy. To gather more slaves for the masters is a very big part of remaining in good
standing. There is a practice of recycling the end times doctrines and I'll say it again it is their marketing strategy. The possibility of gaining more power from the general public is very
enticing to the elders in the congregation and to keep the money flowing up to the publishing houses

Welcome to the forum A&W .....yes the inter-net does have some useful info on the WTS., the back ground on the organization, it's formation
The information is insightful and thought provoking to say the least
Was it corrupt devious men who were power seeking opportunists or was it the real god setting up his earthly organization......ummmm.

Are we in love with our own pain?
by nvrgnbk ini've been doing alot of introspection lately, and i've been wondering this about myself.. what has been your experience?.
do we carry our pain around for so long that it becomes a companion, a part of our self-identity?.
though we know it will benefit us to let it go, do we hold on to it, not wanting to lose an old friend, an integral part of ourselves?.

I don't think so psychologically speaking, but think it's important for us realize from where are pain is derived from and how it came to be. Most of time it involves walking backward a few steps
and analyze what brought us to this state, discern the appropriate correction in are behavior and start walking forward again in a wiser and more mature fashion
By the way I'm looking for brains any kind will do, big ones, small ones, tiny ones ( I guess I better go to a kingdom hall to find those ) partial or whole, used or partially used.
I've seemed to have lost mind and I can't find it anywhere
